One of AGATA TUR’s flagship projects is Samarkand City Tour.

Samarkand City Tour offers unique excursions on double-decker sightseeing buses. It became the first project of its kind in Central Asia, and its launch was a milestone for the city. The route was created to improve access to the most iconic landmarks—squares, historic buildings, and cultural centers—so that first-time visitors can feel the atmosphere of Samarkand.

The full journey lasts about two and a half hours, including several stops at the city’s top attractions. The 34 km loop starts and ends near the Uzbekistan Hotel.

The bus passes the Shahidlar Hotirasi memorial complex, the new Minor Mosque, the Courage Monument dedicated to the 1966 earthquake, the Hazrati Imam complex, the Old Town with the Chorsu bazaar, the Istiklol Palace (the former Palace of Friendship of Peoples), the National Park, and Mustaqillik (Independence) Square.

The trip includes a multilingual audio guide with stories about every stop as well as little-known facts about the history of Samarkand and Uzbekistan. National music plays between commentaries, and the view from the upper deck lets you see familiar places in a completely different light.

The buses were custom-built for Uzbekistan by the Chinese manufacturer Higer, one of the world’s largest bus producers.

The project supports the country’s tourism strategy and helps elevate Samarkand as a destination.
